What's a "Journey Guide"?

During the course of an Elder's journey, Champions have an opportunity to, and sometimes are urgently pressed to, make plans, decisions, and take important actions.  To do this, Champions often need to navigate complex life issues for the first time.  To make matters worse, Champions typically have too little, or sometimes too much, information available to make sense of it all.

Journey Guides help Champions with this process.

 1. Journey Guides layout a logical approach to address sets of issues that may arise.  Each Journey Guide is organized under one of seven structured Topics, each of which focuses on a distinct part of the journey.  These Topics map the landscape and simplify the many options and trade-offs available.  Further, they let Champions know what issues to expect and plan for before an issue suddenly becomes a crisis or a missed opportunity.

2. Each Journey Guide breaks down issues into separate Cards, each of which concisely displays information, approaches, curated website links, and directed pre-built web searches.  This structure lets the Champions steer toward issue resolution.

3. Journey Guides allow Champions to take notes within each Card and create linked Contacts, Documents, and To Dos.  This lets Champions catalog the information associated with decisions they make along the way and helps them take action.
